Founded by Rob Shields in 2003, Acadia Shutters began as a small manufacturer in Rob’s garage and quickly moved to a larger facility. We initially sold our plantation shutters through partnerships with Atlanta’s top home builders and decorators. Over time, we partnered with top manufacturers and expanded by selling directly to homeowners who found us online.

During the 2010s, we expanded into Nashville and Charlotte and broadened our product offering to include shades, blinds, and drapery. Throughout our history, our model of providing high-quality window treatments at competitive prices with excellent customer service has met with success.

“Customer service is what has always set us apart from others, and I believe it will continue to be what sets us apart.”

Rob Shields, Founder

We’ve grown to more than 20 employees that serve hundreds of new customers every month across metro Atlanta, Charlotte, and Nashville. The secret to our success has been our expert team of dedicated sales consultants, installers, and customer service professionals who put customer satisfaction first.

Acadia Shutters Team – Circa 2019

“When I joined Acadia in early 2012, we were a tiny company with only one other sales rep and no office staff. It’s been fun watching the company grow and participating in that growth. We’ve opened new markets in Charlotte and Nashville, hired our own installers instead of subcontractors, built an office team, and expanded our product offerings. The most meaningful milestones for me have been the milestones of our employees- being a part of my co-workers’ lives through major life events—engagements, marriages, new homes, new babies, etc. Our customers are wonderful, and we meet the most interesting people daily. Having worked here for many years, I’ve had the privilege of celebrating milestones with our customers and consider many of them friends.”

Wil Spears, Sales Manager

“In the 5 years I’ve been with Acadia I have seen additions of team members and departments. It’s fun to hear the “back when” stories of how small we were and how far we’ve come. One standout moment for me was when we added a customer solutions coordinator- it’s been a game-changer, making our top-notch customer service even better!”

Kellen Wiggers, Operations Manager

“My favorite memories are getting calls from customers that are over the moon happy with the way their jobs turned out. I have had so many people tell me they feel like they have a new house because of Acadia. The thing I enjoy most about the customers besides making them happy, is just getting to meet so many different personalities. I have had customers put me in a better mood before when I was having a bad day, and they did not even know it. I really enjoy seeing all the different homes and personalities.”

Eric Peace, Sales Consultant

“Marking Acadia’s 20th anniversary, I reflect on my own two-decade journey in the window fashions industry. In my nearly eight years at Acadia, leading the Nashville branch’s growth has been a highlight. John Estep’s (Installer) early and pivotal role laid our foundation for success, and Kameron Tino’s (Installer) later addition has further propelled our market expansion. It’s this evolving team synergy and our strong customer relationships that energize my work and embody Acadia’s commitment to excellence and innovation.”

Ben Stephens, Sales Consultant

We spent years perfecting our craft, focusing on designing and installing custom-made plantation shutters at competitive prices for homeowners across metro Atlanta.

Our best-in-class manufacturing partnerships give us the ability to provide our customers with the highest quality window treatments at the most competitive prices. Since 2004, Classic Window Coverings (CWC) has been our sole source for custom-crafted plantation shutters, made locally in Buford, Georgia. In 2007, we began offering both real wood and faux wood blinds through our partnership with CWC. And in 2012, we partnered with Graber to expand our product line to offer our customers various styles of shades, such as roller shades, woven shades, cellular shades, and layered shades. In 2019, we partnered with Cigma as our dedicated manufacturer of wood and faux wood blinds. Earlier this year, we announced that we have further expanded our product offering to draper, which is made possible through our partner, Graber.

In 2012, we had the honor of designing and installing custom plantation shutters for the kitchen of the Georgia Governor’s Mansion. These double-panel shutters with 2 ½ in louvers and split tilt rod were the perfect match for the home’s classic style.

Our commitment to offering the highest quality window treatments at the best prices and excellent customer service has earned us many accolades and recognition through the years. In 2014, 2017, and 2018, we were recognized as one of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 fastest growing companies in the U.S. For the past 10 consecutive years, 2014-2023, we have received the Houzz Best of Service Award. For the past four years, we have been recognized as a Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave (2020-2023).

Through the years, we have donated more than $60,000 to support organizations who are committed to helping the people and communities that we love. From sponsorships to volunteering, we are always looking for opportunities to be involved and give graciously.

We’ve come a long way since starting Acadia Shutters in a garage in 2003. Every month, we welcome hundreds of new customers across three of the largest metro areas in the Southeast. As we continue to grow and learn what our customers need, we are committed to upholding and improving our standard of service just as we’ve always done. Looking to the future, we plan to continuing expanding our reach to new cities where we will be able to offer our exceptional service with even more homeowners.
